Ilha de Faro, also known as Faro Beach, is reached by a bridge for cars and pedestrians. It is one of the coolest places to surf on the south coast of Algarve. This small spit of sand is right in the middle of Ria Formosa Natural Park and has warm water waves of average quality. On arrival check out the peaks at the east end of the island, as these change throughout the year depending on the sand movements.
